Readme
Nano Banana 2 Lite is Google’s fastest image generation model, built on Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite Image. It’s the lightweight, low-cost sibling of Nano Banana 2 — tuned for speed and high-volume use where you want quick results at the lowest price.
If you need the highest fidelity or larger output resolutions, use Nano Banana 2 or Nano Banana Pro. If you want the cheapest, quickest path to a good image, this is it.
What it can do
Generate images from text. Describe what you want and the model creates it — photorealistic scenes, illustrations, product mockups, and more.
Edit existing images. Pass in one or more images along with a text prompt to transform them — change backgrounds, swap colors, adjust styles, or combine multiple images into one scene.
Use up to 14 reference images. Feed in multiple images for style transfer, image combination, or editing tasks that draw on several visual references at once.
How it differs from Nano Banana 2
- Faster and cheaper. It’s the lite tier, priced well below Nano Banana 2.
- 1K output. Images are generated at 1K (roughly 1 megapixel). For 2K and 4K, use Nano Banana 2.
- No search grounding. It doesn’t support Google Search or Image Search grounding. If you need real-time web grounding, use Nano Banana 2.
Aspect ratios
Supports 1:1, 1:4, 1:8, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:1, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 8:1, 9:16, 16:9, and 21:9. Set match_input_image to automatically match the aspect ratio of your input image.
Output format
Choose between jpg (default) and png.
